How we rank

Every active cat groomer in Aliso Viejo is scored against five signals. The rubric is the same in every city we cover, so the ranking is comparable across markets.

RatingStar rating weighted by log of review count. A 4.9-star groomer with 800 reviews beats a 5.0-star groomer with 4 reviews.
VerificationWhether the listing has been independently confirmed by Cat Grooming Directory to actually offer cat grooming.
Cat-specialist signalsCat-only premises, one-on-one appointments, quiet environment, CFMG certification, Fear Free training, experience with difficult or senior cats.
Breed depthNumber of named breed specialties on the listing. Long-haired Persians, Maine Coons, Ragdolls etc. each count.
Listing completenessWhether the listing has a real description and at least one photo. Maintained listings score higher.

Sponsored / paid listings are explicitly excluded from the score calculation. Cat Grooming Directory does sell paid listing tiers, but those affect the badge displayed on a listing card, never the ranking on this page.

Frequently asked questions

How did you rank the best cat groomers in Aliso Viejo?

Each groomer in our Aliso Viejo directory was scored against an objective rubric covering five signals: average rating weighted by review volume (a 4.9-star groomer with 800 reviews outranks a 5.0-star groomer with 4 reviews), verification status, cat-specialist features like cat-only premises or one-on-one appointments, breed-specialty depth, and listing completeness (description + photo). Paid sponsorship is explicitly excluded from the ranking — sponsored listings show a badge but get no score lift.

How often is the ranking refreshed?

The ranking is recomputed daily from live listing data — when a groomer adds reviews, gets verified, or expands their service set, their score moves automatically. The page itself revalidates daily, so the order you see reflects this week's data.

Are these groomers paying to be listed here?

No. The ranking on this page is editorial — no groomer pays to appear, and paid sponsorship is excluded from the score. Cat Grooming Directory does offer paid listing tiers for groomers, but those affect the badge shown on a listing card, never the ranking position on this page or anywhere else.

What if I don't see my favorite Aliso Viejo groomer here?

The top 8 are the highest-scoring of 12 active listings in Aliso Viejo. Your favorite groomer might be on the full city directory at /cat-grooming/california/aliso-viejo — or they might not be listed yet at all. If they aren't, the fastest path is for the groomer to claim or create their Cat Grooming Directory listing.
