About Cat Grooming Directory
Built by a grooming salon owner who got tired of telling cat owners “we don't do cats.”
The Story Behind the Directory
Hi, I'm Courtney — founder of Cat Grooming Directory and owner of American Puppy, a grooming salon that I grew from five figures to six figures in revenue. Our groomers earn more than they ever have, and I'm obsessed with building businesses that actually work.
Here's the thing: we don't groom cats at American Puppy (most of the time). But we get those calls constantly — “Do you groom cats?” “Can you recommend a cat groomer?” “Where do I even take my cat?”
I realized that if we were getting those calls every week, so was every other dog grooming shop in the country. Cat owners were struggling to find groomers, and cat groomers weren't getting the visibility they deserved. Dog groomers have a dozen directories. Cat groomers had zero.
So I built one.
Cat Grooming Directory is now the largest cat-specific grooming directory in the United States, with 1,800+ groomer listings across all 50 states (plus Canada). The directory, breed guides, grooming resources, and email newsletter are free. Purrfect Mail is our separate, optional paid subscription for physical cat-themed goodies delivered by post.

We built this directory from public business data to help cat owners find groomers. If your business is listed but you don't groom cats, we completely understand — just let us know and we'll remove your listing right away. No hassle. Drop us a line at contact@catgroomingdirectory.com or reply to any of our emails. We want this directory to be accurate and useful for everyone.
What Our Listing Labels Mean
- Verified
- This label reflects the verification status recorded in our business listing data, including information imported from public business sources. It is not a grooming certification, an inspection of the salon, or a guarantee of service quality. Confirm cat services, credentials, and availability directly with the groomer before booking.
- Featured and Sponsored
- These labels identify paid promotion. Paying for placement does not verify a business or certify its grooming skills.
- Cautellus
- Our Cautellus links let you check a business or website separately. A link to Cautellus does not mean that every listing has passed a Cautellus check.
